THE PROMISE OF NURSING FOR PENNSYLVANIA GALA
On the evening of March 2, 2005, a special event was held at the Marriott Convention Center in Philadelphia.
The Pennsylvania Higher Education Foundation (PHEF) established the Nursing Education Initiative to fund educational opportunities for students pursuing careers in the profession of nursing, thus addressing the critical shortage of nurses in Pennsylvania.
In an effort to find innovative new ways to meet these initial program objectives, PHEF, in association with Johnson & Johnson, joined in the production of a fundraising event in Philadelphia to benefit the Commonwealth’s nursing community.
The evening proved to be a success, raising more than $600,000 from nearly 100 donors representing virtually every industry across the state, including hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, financial services, law firms, government relations firms, advertising agencies, publishing firms and a host of others.
The Pennsylvania Higher Education Foundation and the Higher
Education Foundation are Pennsylvania nonprofit corporations exempt from
